Counselling format

I offer online or telephone counselling. I firmly believe that counselling needs to work for you. While I encourage clients to attend weekly sessions, I also offer bi-weekly sessions if you feel this would suit you better.

My approach

The counselling I offer is person-centred, meaning that I will always focus on the issues that you choose to present during each session. I will tailor my approach to address any specific goals or needs you may have throughout our sessions. For example, there may be times where a deeper exploration is necessary in order to fully understand a difficult situation you are experiencing, or sometimes you just need the space to release the emotional stress and burden that you have experienced.

There may be other times when you are looking for impactful solutions to support your ability to manage stresses and challenges. You will always be offered a safe, confidential space to be listened to.

What to expect

We would start with a no-cost 20 minute initial consultation, which gives us the chance to meet and see if we would be a good fit together. During the consultation, I would be keen to understand what you would like to explore in sessions, including any goals you would like to achieve from counselling. I will then explain my counselling approach in a bit more detail.

Following this, I will send you a counselling agreement that sets out the terms of our sessions. There is also a questionnaire that allows me to better understand how any anxiety is impacting you. We can then begin our sessions together, should you wish to go ahead.
