This exercise was quite liberating when I tried it for the first time. I found it to be an entertaining and enlightening way of understanding how my life is structured and the way in which I spent my time. As someone who regularly makes the time to reflect, I found this exercise to be a useful way to structure my reflection and think about the aspects of my life that I do not pay enough attention to.
I think we can sometimes become so obsessed and blind-sighted at the idea of trying to reach specific goals, that we can neglect the areas of our life that would benefit from more of our attention. This exercise sheds a light on all of that. Even if you are not someone who makes the time to reflect (whether this means journaling, meditating, or even just taking time to be with your thoughts and feelings consciously), you will see many benefits and help your self-awareness by doing this exercise at least once.
Even if you have never done any kind of reflection or journaling before, this exercise is a great way to begin, because it is so structured and gets you really thinking on a practical level of the way you spend your time and what you want your life to look like. From undertaking this exercise, you will be equipped to focus on the areas you feel is the highest priority and can start taking the steps to improve your life.
